November work parties – DOE students

We’ve had 11 students join us for their Duke of Edinburgh volunteering over the last couple months who have been a huge help. They’ve worked hard using a variety of tools, digging,  hoeing, cutting & scything to help us clear large areas of thick overgrown brambles & weeds, as well as clearing and mulching around individual trees. We’ve had a few bonfires to burn our large clearance piles which are always popular with the kids, especially when we bring out the marshmallows.  Even though some of them have finished their required 3 months quite a few of them have come back & done some extra days with their mates that haven’t finished yet & sometimes some extra friends have come along and got stuck in just for fun which is wonderful.
