Beltane 2026

Our fabulous community brought the cheer despite the persistent rain during this year’s Beltane celebration!
We danced our Maypole five times to joyful music from Rick Chappell, Core-chestra, The Petty Criminals, and Ulla – the Irish Folk from the North Inn. There was fun Nos Lowen dancing led by Tim Payne & Nina Alsop & a lovely Irish lass who taught us a fun folk dance right at the end.
We made floral crowns, built dens and played games, and drank our own cider and apple juice made on site with no additives. We also enjoyed Ransom Ale made by our neighbours The Mine Brewing Company.
We were grateful for our Core building, which provided a break from the elements with hot drinks, a delicious veg stew cooked by Vikki Stewart, many incredible donated cakes, and some lovely guitar playing by Pete.
Here are photos taken by volunteers and local photographer  Pete – This wonderful land Penwith
and a lovely film made by Glass Mountain Films.
