We think that this is a Winter Peach Apple tree based on a hand-drawn map given to us. Planted in 2013. It’s at the very top of the orchard, close to the Elderflower tree.
‘Winter Peach’ is a variety with a crisp, tender and juicy flesh, best known for its sharp and slightly spicy flavour. It makes a good dual-purpose eating and cooking apple, with moderate vigor and good natural disease resistance.
It was originally from Hanniford Nursery, Paignton, Devon and makes a good choice for the organic grower.
