Community Lantern Walk & Solstice Gathering
We came together in the Community Orchard to celebrate the Winter Solstice.
We set off on a short lantern walk that took us around the orchard, through the skatepark, up through the woodland pathway through the Nature Reserve which circled us back to the orchard again.
When we returned there was the opportunity to jump over a line of fire on the ground – a traditional way of marking the solstice and bringing luck and happiness for the coming year. It was a beautiful evening to come together before Christmas and the orchard looked beautiful lit up with fairy lights and candlelit lanterns.
