Our Partners & Funders

There are many organisations that have helped us through partnership and funding.  We would like to say thank you so much for supporting us with our various projects, for investing in our community and in a green legacy for the future. We wouldn’t be where we are without you.

Partners

St Ives Community Foodshare – A group dedicated to saving good food from going to landfill. They rescue food that has passed it’s sell-by date from the 3 local co-ops every night as well as from various other sources and redistribute the food in many ways.  We set up this group in March 2020 as a membership organisation within St Ives Orchard. They have moved from strength to strength and became their own separate group but we continue to work very closely with them.

St Ives Skatepark Project – This amazing skatepark is right next door, it’s design is a work of art.
We helped set up this group when we realised how much the old skatepark needed upgrading. The group did an incredible job of raising funding and a new skatepark was built and opened up in Jan 2022.

Steeple Woodland Nature Reserve: A 40 acre public open space around Knill’s Monument, overlooking St Ives, Cornwall. Visitors can explore the woods, stroll over heathland and discover areas planted with young trees. Various activities occur at the reserve, including volunteer work sessions every Wednesday morning, wildlife surveys, environmental research projects and community events. Members from this group helped to start up our community orchard in 2013, having identified our land as a potential site for donated fruit trees and negotiated with the town council to use the land for this purpose. They supported and advised us in the formation of our community group.

St Ives Town Council – We are lucky to have a very supportive Town Council group who also run the ‘Palemon Best Trust’ which looks after the park and skatepark next door to us.

Cornwall Council – we lease this land from Cornwall Council and they have supported us with various grants and in promoting our activities.

Times & Echo: Supporting us by regularly publishing articles about our activities.

St Ives Climate Action Group: Non-political group which collaborates with local community, council and MPs to focus on ways to reduce the carbon produced by the town and to address any environmental concerns.

Funders

Thank you to these groups who have supported the orchard with funding.
